Résumé

Cette étude analyse l’omission en traduction littéraire à travers la traduction persane de La Folle allure de Christian Bobin par Ghavimi, en mobilisant la typologie de Davies (2007). Les omissions identifiées peuvent être involontaires, résultant de différences syntaxiques et stylistiques, ou volontaires, motivées par un souci d’adaptation culturelle et de lisibilité. Elles influencent la fidélité et la fluidité du texte traduit, pouvant simplifier le style ou remodeler les représentations de l’original, tout en risquant d’effacer son étrangeté. Cette étude met en lumière la double responsabilité du traducteur, partagé entre la fidélité à l’auteur et l’attention portée au lecteur, et confronté à la tension inhérente entre la préservation de l’intégrité du texte source et son intégration dans la culture d’arrivée. Elle montre que l’omission en traduction littéraire ne relève pas seulement d’un ajustement technique, mais qu’elle engage un véritable positionnement éthique : chaque décision d’omission participe d’un choix interprétatif qui interroge la loyauté du traducteur, la place accordée au Soi ou à l’Autre et les finalités mêmes du projet traductif. Elle constitue également un outil stratégique dont la légitimité varie selon le contexte, le genre et les objectifs de la traduction.

Résumé [Persian]

در این تحقیق سعی کرده ایم حذف در ترجمه ادبی، علل و عوامل موثر بر حذف و تاثیر آن را بر پذیرش متن در جامعه مقصد بررسی کنیم. به این منظور، مواردی از حذف در ترجمه فارسی رمان «La Folle allure»  (1995) اثر کریستیان بوبن را با بهره گیری از روش طبقه ‌بندی دیویس (2007) بررسی کردیم. تحلیل ترجمه فارسی با عنوان «دیوانه وار» (1401) به قلم قویمی نشان داد که حذف‌ها دو دسته هستند : حذف های اجباری، ناشی از تفاوت‌های دستوری یا سبکی بین دو زبان و حذف های اختیاری که با هدف سازگاری با فرهنگ مقصد و افزایش خوانایی متن انجام  می شوند. اگرچه این حذف‌ها می‌توانند منجر به روان تر شدن متن ترجمه شوند، اما به دلیل ساده‌ سازی سبک متن اصلی، باعث کاهش غنای اثر و یگانگی آن می شوند. این مطالعه همچنین بار دیگر برمسئولیت دوگانه مترجم، ایجاد تعادل بین وفاداری به متن مبدا و پذیرش آن در فرهنگ مقصد صحه می گذارد و نشان می دهد که حذف در ترجمه تنها یک ابزار راهبردی نیست بلکه یک انتخاب اخلاقی است که وفاداری مترجم، جایگاه خود و دیگری وهدف اصلی ترجمه را آشکار می سازد.

English Title: Omission in Literary Translation: A Blurred Line Between fidelity to the Self and betrayal of the Other

Résumé [English]

This study analyzes omission in literary translation through Ghavimi’s Persian translation of Christian Bobin’s La Folle allure, using Davies’s (2007) typology. The omissions identified may be involuntary, resulting from syntactic and stylistic differences, or deliberate, motivated by a concern for cultural adaptation and readability. They influence the fidelity and fluidity of the translated text, potentially simplifying the style or reshaping representations of the original, while risking erasing its foreignness. This study highlights the dual responsibility of the translator, torn between fidelity to the author and attention to the reader, and confronted with the inherent tension between preserving the integrity of the source text and its integration into the target culture. It shows that omission in literary translation is not just a matter of technical adjustment, but that it involves a genuine ethical position: each decision of omission is part of an interpretative choice which questions the loyalty of the translator, the place given to the Self or to the Other and the very purposes of the translation project.
