Résumé

L’œuvre d’Antonin Artaud est imprégnée d’une défiance à l’égard de la culture occidentale. Il a besoin de se distancier de la société de son temps et de puiser sa propre vérité dans un mythe fondateur qui pourrait récupérer le défaut de son mythe individuel et lui permettrait d’accéder à une nouvelle forme d’expression artistique. Ainsi est-il amené à s’intéresser au Mythe du Graal et à rechercher dans un passé lointain, les traces d’une spiritualité éclipsée. Il a été visiblement intéressé par les thèses de René Guénon, une des figures incontestables de l’histoire intellectuelle du XX^e siècle dont les livres ont trait à la métaphysique, au symbolisme, à l'ésotérisme et à la critique du monde moderne, chez qui il a trouvé une explicitation métaphysique de la doctrine du Graal et une explication cosmologique des symboles de primordialité qui l’intéressaient. Des éléments qui ont jalonné le cheminement de sa quête et qui vont nous servir de fil conducteur pour étudier la question de la quête du Graal chez Artaud, en la mettant en écho avec les idées de Guénon, mais surtout pour comprendre comment il a contribué à son tour à l’ordre de l’évolution de ce mythe fondateur de l’histoire de l’Occident.

نتونن آرتو از منتقدان سرسخت فرهنگ و تمدن غربی است. او از جامعۀ زمانه خود به‌ستوه آمده و به دنبال یافتن حقیقت در دل اسطوره‌های بنیادین و مکاتب باطنی است. او برای کشف راز معنویتی که از دست رفته می‌انگارد به اسطوره گرال علاقه‌مند می‌شود و جستجویی نمادین را برای ردیابی و تصاحب آن آغاز می‌کند. آرتو امیدوار است کشف این راز نه تنها گره از کلاف سردرگم زندگی‌اش که گویی دیگر راه به جایی نمی‌برد باز کند، بلکه راه رسیدن به تعبیری جدید از هنر را نیز به او نشان دهد. او در مسیر این اکتشاف به وضوح تحت تأثیر آرای رنه گنون، اندیشمند مطرح قرن خود در زمینۀ متافیزیک، سمبولیسم، باطنی‌گرایی و نقد دنیای مدرن است. تجزیه و تحلیل‌های متافیزیکی و کیهانی گنون از سمبل‌های آغازین و اسطوره‌های بنیادین، مسیر مکاشفۀ او را تا حد زیادی پیش رویش ترسیم می‌کند و به ما نیز کمک می‌کند تا در سایه‌ی این مباحث به بررسی ماهیت جستجوی گرال نزد آرتو بپردازیم. اما هدف این جستار فراتر از بررسی این ماهیت، پاسخ به این پرسش اصلی است که این هنرمند دیده‌ور و نویسنده‌ی عصیانگر ادبیات فرانسه چطور به نوبه‌ی خود به سیر تحول و روند پویش یک کهن افسانه‌ی فرهنگ غربی یا همان اسطوره‌ی گرال کمک کرده است.

Echoes of Myths and Esotericism in the Work of Antonin Artaud Existential Revivification of the Myth of the Grail

Résumé [English]

The work of Antonin Artaud is imbued with a mistrust of Western culture. He needs to distance himself from the society of his time and to draw his own truth from a founding myth that could recover the defect of his individual myth and allow him to access a new form of artistic expression. Thus he is led to take an interest in the Myth of the Grail and to look for traces of an eclipsed spirituality in the distant past. He was visibly interested in the theses of René Guénon, one of the indisputable figures of the intellectual history of the twentieth century whose books deal with metaphysics, symbolism, esotericism and criticism of the modern world, in whom he found a metaphysical explanation of the doctrine of the Grail and a cosmological explanation of the symbols of primordiality that interested him. Elements that marked the path of his quest and that will serve as a guideline for us to study the question of the quest for the Grail in Artaud, by putting it in echo with the ideas of Guénon, but above all to understand how he contributed in turn to the order of evolution of this founding myth in the history of the West.
